Material for New Charge Against Yukos Leaders Prepared

The investigation committee of the Russian Interior Ministry has prepared the materials for a new charge against the heads of the Yukos oil giant, Vremya Novostei wrote on Wednesday.

Deputy head of the committee, Mikhail Zotov, quoted by the paper, said that six Yukos executives, including its co-owners Leonid Nezvlin and Andrei Golubovich, were suspected of illegally transfering funds from the Yukos subsidiary, the Eastern oil company.

The investigators have already passed this case to the Prosecutor General’s Office, Zotov was quoted by the paper as saying.

On the same day, the Moscow City Court rejected a request to free another executive of Yukos, Platon Lebedev, on bail.

On Tuesday, Moscow’s Meshchansky Court agreed to join the cases of Lebedev and the former Yukos CEO Mikhail Khodorkovsky. The court will start hearing the case against the two businessmen on June 16.
